In 2003, the Public Relations Association of Mississippi (PRAM) began the PRism Awards program to honor and recognize outstanding work in the field of public relations by professionals and students within the state of Mississippi. Each year, the program continues to grow with an average of 300 entries. The highest award honor goes to the PRism winners followed by Awards of Excellence and Certificates of Achievement. A Best of Show is awarded as well as a Judge's Choice. In 2004, PRAM opened the competition to student members. The awards are judged by professionals outside the geographic boundaries of the Southern Public Relations Federation. PRAM is a network of 11 chapters throughout the state consisting of nearly 600 members. The association includes memberships for students majoring in public relations and professionals who hold positions in a variety of fields including corporations, industries, government entities, not-for-profits and agencies. PRAM members are concurrent members of the Southern Public Relations Federation, a network of more than 1,300 professionals in Alabama, Florida, Louisiana and Mississippi. PRAM conducts an annual conference to promote continued education, professionalism and networking among its members. The conference is concluded each year with the PRism Awards Banquet. 2008 eligibility dates: January 1, 2007 - December 31, 2007
